Prayer
Prayer helps us get closer to God.
Prayer is a lot like any other conversation. By talking with God, we can understand more of what he is trying to say to us, and bring our needs and the needs of the world to him.
Prayer and quiet time spent with God was an important part of Jesus' life and, when they asked him, he taught his disciples to pray the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). The Bible also encourages us to pray. In Colossians 4:2, for example, the Apostle Paul challenges us to, "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
Fostering a sense of prayerfulness, and developing a prayer routine that makes sense in our busy lives can be hard, and the resources in this section are to help you get started.
Whether you're wanting to try a daily time of prayer, come to God with a specific problem or say 'thank you' for a particular 'blessing' you should find something here to help.
We'd like to hear about your 'journey into prayer' - the successes and the failures - and to support you if we can. There's always time and opportunity for prayer in and after our services or you can contact us if you have a story to tell, or need particular help.
