The Cromer Church Family moved...

… back into the Parish Church for Easter

The major works on the lighting and heating systems that started in January have now been completed and we moved back into the Parish Church in time for our Easter services.

Other improvements include new speakers for the sound system to make it easier to hear music and the spoken word in the church and enhancements to the bookstall area to make it safer and more attractive.

We’ve also taken the opportunity to do some high-level cleaning and decoration and to find and fix a small leak in the roof over the chapel.

Everyone using the building will benefit from these improvements, which will make Cromer Parish Church warmer, brighter and more eco-friendly, and equip it better for its mission and ministry in the modern world.

Ivan Kimble, one of the Churchwardens, commented, “We’re really pleased with the completed work which will have a significant impact on all who come into the church to worship or to visit but has minimal impact on the look of this historic building.”

Scaffolding The twelve-week closure of the Parish Church was necessary for safety reasons as the building was filled with scaffolding to the full height of the ridge (some 18 metres) to enable the high-level work.  The successful completion of the various projects, on time and within budget, was the result of careful planning and great teamwork between contractors, project managers and church officials.

We were pleased to be able to use the Parish Hall for services and other activities during the closure, but we’re really looking forward to being back in the beautiful and inspiring setting of the Parish Church.

We look forward to welcoming many visitors to the Parish Church during the Easter holiday period, whether to see the results of the works, to explore our historic building or to worship with us.  It’s great to be back!
