This week's prayer suggestions

Please use this framework when praying for Michelle Proctor during January (and for any of our Mission Partners at other times).

Day 1 - Relationship with God: Missionaries can struggle, as we do. Please pray for this primary need.

Day 2 - Physical and emotional needs: Satan can discourage us through our physical and emotional lives. Many missionaries live in difficult conditions.  Pray for good health, resilience and protection from harm.

Day 3 - Family relationships: Pray for strong, healthy friendships and family links, and for contentment in singleness where this is part of the calling.

Day 4 - Ability to communicate: Pray for the stamina and understanding to communicate Christ effectively in the local culture by word and deed.

Day 5 - Effective ministry: Pray for the work, for the people being ministered to and for fruitfulness.

Day 6 - Team relationships: Missionaries often team up with local believers, pastors and evangelists and other missionaries to strengthen their work.  But Satan can sometimes use this to confound or weaken. Pray for the whole team.

Day 7 - Country of service: Expand your prayers to include the entire country: its political situation; the government and its leaders; the availability of visas; and continuing freedom to preach the gospel.

The Lord's Prayer (Contemporary)

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

The Lord's Prayer (Traditional)

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.

A Prayer for the Church

O God, in whose sovereign power rests everything in heaven and earth, take hold of your church today that, in every parish in this Diocese, we may be led humbly in the paths of holiness and boldly in the ways of witness, that many may be found as new disciples of Jesus Christ and learn to live joyfully in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
