Opportunities to pray together

Praying handsThe Saturday morning prayer meeting started during the vacancy in 2002,  and meetings have continued faithfully since then.

The group meets 10.00-10.20 a.m. on Saturday in the Meeting Room at the Parish Church.

There are also opportunities to pray at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday (at the Parish Church before the evening service), at 7.00 a.m. and at 10.45 a.m. (at the Parish Church after the mid-week communion) on Wednesday (home-based and in a different venue each week, so contact us for details) and on the first Sunday of each month at 2.30 p.m. (at St Martin's).

You can just come along or contact us for further details.

The Lord's Prayer (Contemporary)

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

The Lord's Prayer (Traditional)

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.

A Prayer for the Church

O God, in whose sovereign power rests everything in heaven and earth, take hold of your church today that, in every parish in this Diocese, we may be led humbly in the paths of holiness and boldly in the ways of witness, that many may be found as new disciples of Jesus Christ and learn to live joyfully in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
