LifeLight - the new name for Cromer Beach Mission - is a partnership between Scripture Union and the local churches. This year's Mission takes place between Monday 20th and Saturday 25th August. There will be holiday-club style activities for 3-10 year-olds in the Parish Hall each morning from 10.00 to 12.00 and for 11-16s at the Methodist Hall. Centre Point for adults will meet at the same time in the Meeting Room at the Parish Church. Each afternoon, between 2.30 4.00, there will be activities for all ages on Fearn's Field (Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th) and family events on the East Beach (Wednesday 22nd and Saturday 25th). Evening events for families include 'Cluedo and BBQ' (Tuesday 21st) and the ever-popular Family Ceilidh (Thursday 23rd). You can also pdf download a flier (652 KB) with all the details.

Our next Men’s Breakfast is on Saturday 21st July, 8-10 a.m. at St Martin’s. Please come along to enjoy a hearty breakfast, the companionship of other men, good conversation and speaker Peter Farley from the Lighthouse Community Church. Peter was born in West London and is a former police officer and teacher. In 1983, he founded The Matthew Project, a Christian charity working in the drug abuse field. He is a Sheringham Town Councillor and is actively involved in various  community projects.  He has been instrumental in setting up Sheringham Shed and will be speaking about the community benefits and outreach opportunities a 'shed' offers, as well as sharing his experiences of setting up projects with a Christian vision. Find out more about men's breakfast, sign up here  or contact Simon Fenn for further information.

For the recital, on Tuesday 17th July at 8.00 p.m. in the Parish Church, we're delighted to welcome Richard Walker as our recitalist. Richard is Assistant Director of Music at St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury. His career has been largely in teaching, first at The Edinburgh Academy, and then as Director of Music successively at Daniel Stewart’s and Melville College, Edinburgh, The Leys School, Cambridge and Harrow School. He was also Assistant Organist at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral Edinburgh and, subsequently, Organist at St John’s, Princes Street, Edinburgh. Apart from his organ playing, Richard conducts the Phoenix Singers of Shrewsbury, is part of a piano duo and also a regular piano accompanist. He has planned a varied and interesting programme, the recital is free to attend and everyone is welcome. An experienced teacher, Martin was, for many years, Director of Music and Organist at St Martin’s, Dorking and served on the visiting music staff at Epsom College where he was Chapel Organist.  Now living in Suffolk, Martin was President of the Suffolk Organists Association for the year 2017-18. He has planned a varied and interesting programme, the recital is free to attend and everyone is welcome. SU Mission Support Group meets at 7.30 p.m.on Saturday 7th July at 49, Norwich Road to pray and prepare for this year's Scripture Union Mission - now with the new name 'LifeLight', which takes place between 19th and 25th August. All friends and supporters of Mission are welcome. Contact us for further details.

Recently Head of Student Development at the Royal College of Organists, James is recognised as a distinguished international concert organist and one of the UK's foremost organ teachers.  He has planned a varied and interesting programme, the recital is free to attend and everyone is welcome. The next session of Who Let The Dads Out? is on Saturday 14th July - 8.30-10.30 a.m. in the Parish Church Lounge. Who Let The Dads Out? is for Dads, Stepdads, Granddads and other male carers, where they can spend quality time with their toddlers and pre-school children. Meet other Dads; give Mum some valuable time off; drink tea or coffee and have a bacon roll; do a craft activity with your child; or just play with the toys. You can contact Simon Fenn for further information, or just turn up on the day. We look forward to seeing you!

For the recital, on Tuesday 26th June at 8.00 p.m. in the Parish Church, we're delighted to welcome Anders Rinde from Vereide in Norway as our recitalist.  Anders studied organ and church music at The Norwegian Academy of Music and singing at the University of Stavanger.  He is organist at Vereide church. On Sunday 24th June, London City Missioners Nick Mott and John Dowling will be at our morning services. Nick will visit the 9.00 and 10.45 services at the Parish Church and John will be at 10.30 Café Church at St Martin's. They will  be sharing brief accounts of their work in the Mission, and there's an opportunity to hear more and watch a DVD, in the Parish Church lounge after the 10.45am service. London City Mission is one of Mission Partners, with historic links with Cromer, and works "on the front line, taking the message of Jesus to London’s least reached."
