The next Church Prayer Night is on Monday 2nd December at St Martin’s between 7.45 p.m. and 9.15 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Prayer Night offers the opportunity for the Cromer Church family to explore prayer together in a range of styles and to pray for the world, for the church, for our community, for families, for individuals and for each other.  Please get the date in your diary, and come along.

Advent is the period of preparation leading up to Christmas. This year, Advent Sunday falls on 1st December.

Many Christians use the Advent season to anticipate and reflect on the meaning of Christmas and to prepare themselves for the coming of Jesus. Prayers to help with that preparation can be found here. Use them to begin your own spiritual preparation for Christmas. In the meantime, why not use the prayer below or search for #followthestar to find other resources or see what's going on near you this Advent?

"Awake! The day is coming soon when you shall see God face to face. Remember the ways and the works of God. Christ calls you out of darkness to walk in the light of his coming. We are God’s children so, Lord, make us one as we walk with Christ today and for ever. Amen."

Cornerstone is our coffee shop in the Parish Church and, from Monday 4th November, opening hours change to 10.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Monday to Friday*.  Cornerstone offers a great place to drop in for a snack and a drink, to relax, chat, meet old friends and make new ones. Whether you're young or old, a local resident or a visitor to North Norfolk, interested in the architecture or the Peregrine Falcons, want to play with the toys or explore the building, looking for a place to pray or just want somewhere to sit and rest, you're sure of a warm welcome.

*During the Christmas Tree Festival (27th - 30th November) Cornerstone will open 10.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.

On Sunday 24th November at 4.00 p.m. in Cromer Parish Church, we're delighted to be hosting one of the services to welcome Bishop Graham to the diocese following his enthronement at the Cathedral on 9th November.  We hope you will join us on this very special occasion.

The service in Cromer is one of five that will take place across the Diocese to welcome the new Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham Usher.  Bishop Graham was enthroned as the seventy-second Bishop of Norwich on Saturday 9th November in Norwich Cathedral. You can read more about the symbolic ceremony, which saw the bishop formally seated for the first time on the ancient throne at the east end of the Cathedral, and it marks the beginning of his public ministry in the Diocese.

Bishop Graham has said of these welcome services: “I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible, and getting to know you and your wonderful communities, as together we continue to seek to live out Jesus Christ’s call to love God and our neighbours.”  The other services are on Monday 18 November at 7.00 p.m. at Great Yarmouth Minster, Monday 25 November at 7.00 p.m. at St Cuthbert’s Church, Thetford and Wednesday 27 November at 7.00 p.m. at King’s Lynn Minster.

For one night only - Saturday 16th November - churches and other groups up and down the country will be taking part in the biggest multi-venue, nationwide quiz ever. Our event is at 7.00 p.m. at St Martin's in Mill Road, so get together your friends and family to make a team of 4 - 6 and come along to take part.

The evening costs £5 a head with free drinks and cakes (£2 for children). Every pound raised will help transform the lives of people living in poverty. Sign up at the Parish Church or St Martin's to give us an idea of numbers.
