Sunday 8th December is the 2nd Sunday of Advent. So, we're a week into the Advent journey and we hope you've been enjoying opening your Advent calendar or lighting your Advent candle. As we continue to anticipate the coming of Jesus at Christmas and prepare for His return in glory, please pray...

  • Father in heaven, who sent your Son to redeem the world and will send him again to be our judge: give us grace so to imitate him in the humility and purity of his first coming that, when he comes again, we may be ready to greet him with joyful love and firm faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
  • Almighty God, purify our hearts and minds, that when your Son Jesus Christ comes again as judge and saviour we may be ready to receive him, who is our Lord and our God. Amen.

Sunday 1st December is Advent Sunday. We hope you've been looking forward to opening your Advent calendar (even if only for the chocolate inside!) or lighting your Advent candle.  Well, Advent has now begun and, as we begin this season, in which we anticipate the coming of Jesus at Christmas and prepare for His return in glory, please pray...

  • O Lord our God, make us watchful and keep us faithful as we await the coming of your Son our Lord; that, when he shall appear, he may not find us sleeping in sin but active in his service and joyful in his praise; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
  • Almighty God, as your kingdom dawns, turn us from the darkness of sin to the light of holiness, that we may be ready to meet you in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
