Thursday 30th May is Ascension Day and there's a special service of Holy Communion at 10.00 a.m. in the Parish Church. Whatever your age or experience, you'll find a warm welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.

Then, in the evening - at 7.30 at the Parish Church - we're hosting a special prayer night, with other local churches, to mark the start of this year's 'Thy Kingdom Come' initiative. 'Thy Kingdom Come' is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. Come and join us to pray that Jesus would transform many lives in our town and region. Who might you be praying for? The #TKC19 wave of prayer starts on 30th May and runs for 10 days, between Ascension Day and Pentecost.

The first of the Peregrine chicks hatched on Friday night/Saturday morning.

A pair of Peregrine Falcons has set up home on the Parish Church tower. In cooperation with the Hawk and Owl Trust and the North-East Norfolk Bird Club, a CCTV monitor has been made available in the church to enable church family members and visitors to watch the birds on their nesting tray. Please note that this facility is not available during service times, which means that it won’t be possible to view the pictures between 8.30 a.m. and 12.15 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. and 8.15 p.m. on Sunday or at any time when a wedding, funeral or other service is taking place. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Peregrines are protected birds and disturbing their nest site is an offence. This means that the tower will remain closed to visitors until further notice. We know that a lot of people look forward to climbing the tower when they visit Cromer but that simply isn't possible at the moment. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Downing Street has announced that the Rt Revd Graham Usher will become the 72nd Bishop of Norwich. Bishop Graham, 48, is currently the Bishop of Dudley.  Prior to this he was Rector of Hexham in Northumberland, following his time working in Middlesbrough.  He has also spent time living and working in Ghana. Following the announcement, Bishop Graham will tour the Diocese this afternoon, including visits to a local housing trust, a primary school garden and outdoor reflective space, a church after-school club run by volunteers, and culminating in a special Evensong at Norwich Cathedral at 5.30 on Friday 3rd May to which everyone is invited.
