Planning a school or other group visit
We welcome visits from schools and other groups.
If you're planning a school or other group visit to Cromer Parish Church, please read this informaton carefully, then complete the Visit Planning form at the bottom of the page and submit it.
The information you provide will help us to help you by making the most suitable arrangments for your visit, so that you have a safe, enjoyable and worthwhile time at the Parish Church. We offer support from experienced guides and have supporting information and resources for different age groups. To help us plan for your visit, we need the right information so that we can choose the right people to work with you and manage things effectively, especially during the busy summer months.
Groups must be supervised by an appropriate number of adults. This is your responsiblity, and we expect you to apply standard adult:child ratios according to age at all times - for the group overall and in any smaller groups - with a minimum of 2 adults for all groups when climbing the tower. Groups climbing the tower are limited to 20 plus the accompanying adults and we suggest that groups exploring the church should also be limited to 20. If you have a larger group (e.g. a class of 30) you will need to split them into two or more groups so that one group climbs the tower while the other takes the tour.We make a small charge for climbing the tower; in 2016, this is 50p per child.
You should probably allow three-quarters of an hour to explore the church and three-quarters of an hour for the tower climb. A one-and-a-half hour visit is needed to do both. You will need more time and extra adults if you have more than two groups, with younger children or if any of the group need help with climbing the tower steps.
We have a large number of visitors, and anyone planning to come with a group should contact Anne Cottingham (our group visits coordinator) well in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements and avoid clashes with other groups and other events. The best way to do this is by completing the Visit Planning Form, below.
Please work carefully through the form, completing all the tabs before submitting the form. Required fields are marked with a red * and you won't be able to submit the form until all these are correctly completed. You can jump back and forth between the tabs to amend or add information but it isn't possible, at present, to save the form and return to it later. You should, therefore, plan to complete it at one sitting, which takes about 10 minutes. Submitting the form sends the information to our School and Group Visits Coordinator. Once you have submitted the form, you should see a message that it has been successfully sent, and receive a copy by email. If you don't see that message or don't receive the email, please use the Contact Us menu to alert the Website Administrator.
