2012-04-canaan-2April 2012 - News from Evelyn for Your interest and prayers

We have enjoyed a wonderful time over the Easter period, here in North Norfolk. The living Saviour whom we serve is evident in the lives of so many people. We have seen lives changed, heard about healings and witnessed children coming to know Jesus. Marilyn Baker and Tracy have been with us during Holy Week, giving a wonderful concert in Cromer Parish Church. They will both be with us at Canaan Thanksgiving Day this year, on 7th July at 3.00 p.m. Please put this date in your diary.

2012-04-canaan-3At the time of writing this letter, I am also busy preparing to go to Hungary. Heather will be my co-driver. Please pray for our safety as we travel. I am looking forward to seeing all our friends in Hungary again: encouraging them in their work and blessing them with gifts that many have given from the UK. The lorry will be arriving while we are there. It is always exciting unloading it, and seeing all the things being put into the hands of those who need them.

A team of four from the UK will arrive in Hungary while I am out there, to help with repairs and gardening at Kanaan Haz and with phase three of the project. Brian and Julia Anderson will also be out in Hungary at that time; and we are looking forward to doing some planning and praying together.

Please pray for Kornel as he prepares for the summer camps. We are hoping to raise a thousand pounds, so that he can take a group of children from one of the Ukrainian state orphanages (where he does a regular kids' club) to the lovely CEF camp centre in the Carpathian mountains. This will be a wonderful experience for children whose lives are not easy, to say the least! This is the same centre for which we raised money to provide new reservoirs and a well. The centre does a wonderful work amongst thousands of children each year.

2012-04-canaan-1By the time you get this prayer letter, we will be in Hungary. Please remember our visits to Koszeg orphanage, the Gyor orphanage and many Christian friends in your prayers. It's a bit like Paul's missionary journeys as he returns to encourage believers.

1 am trying not to do too much driving; but I would love to see our friends Jo and Wendy Chaplar. Please pray for the strength to do this.

Whilst I'm away, work continues at home and at Canaan. Pray for the team as they take Sunday Club, Saturday Kids' Club, the luncheon, Thursday prayer meetings and the Friday morning house group.

Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, support and concern.

Love, Evelyn.

(Read Colossians 1 - it says it all! 'The Message' translation is really good!)
