Rev Dr David Court, Vicar of CromerAs a Church family, we spent January...

- reminding ourselves of our vision and our purpose, as a Church here in Cromer;

- encouraging one another to be involved in Passion for Life - our week for 'celebrating Easter' at the end of March;

- thinking again about our SHAPE - the gifts that God has given us to be used for Him - and about what we have to offer;

- thinking about our giving - the financial needs and responsibilities we have as a Church this year.

The challenge now is to actually do something with all this information. For all of us, it’s too easy to be stirred in a service - or challenged at home... but for life then to continue exactly as before! ‘Poor talkative Christianity,’ someone once said dismissively of much of Church life; lots of words, but not much else. It’s a phrase that has haunted me ever since I first heard it.

Why did ‘the Lord add to their number daily those who were being saved’ as our motto text says? Well, at least in part, it was because here was a group of people who took seriously the need to put into practice the things they were learning. They acted on the words and, because they did, the Church grew! I wonder if that will be our story, too?

Bible Motto 2010

praise_hands"And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Our 2010 Bible motto is taken from Acts 2:47 and reminds us that, as a Christian church family, we exist to worship a loving God; to express that love in Christian community; to draw people to Jesus; to build them up as His followers, and to equip them for service for the good of the world.
