It is a little over 100 years since the Mothers' Union was formed here in Cromer and, of course, many changes have occurred during that time.
Prayer, fellowship and our cornmitment to the encouragement of "Christian Family Life" remain the focal point of all our meetings, however, and - yes - we still enjoy a good cup of tea!
Today, Mothers' Union (MU) is a world-wide organisation with 3.6 million members.
MU provides literacy, parenting and hygiene courses in third world countries, and trains local women to run these.
MU helps with emergency relief funds to those in desperate need.
Nearer home, MU not only provides parenting courses, but is involved with prison visits.
Some branches make clothes for still-born premature babies - which are a great comfort to the parents - while others provide emergency toiletries for patients in hospital.
Our branch meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2.30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. We are always pleased to welcome visitors - including gentlemen too.
