Services at St Martin's and the Parish Church
We are one church, with two centres and five congregations. So, on most Sundays, there are five services; three at the Parish Church and two at St Martin's.
9.00 a.m. Holy Communion at the Parish Church is a quieter and more reflective start to the day. Around 55 minutes, sometimes with a choir, based around more traditional texts, with hymns, organ and a shorter talk.
10.30 a.m. at the Parish Church offers a variety of family-friendly services using a more contemporary style. Music led by both organ and music group, combining the best of the new with the best of the old, more extensive teaching, Sunday Club teaching groups for children and teens and a crèche. A service designed to be accessible to all ages with a specific 'all-age' service once a month. (There are no teaching groups on these Sundays.) In a 'normal' month, the first Sunday is communion, the second is Morning Worship, the third is Morning Worship with Prayer for Healing and the fourth is All-Age Worship. This pattern changes, however, to accommodate festivals and other special events so it's always worth checking here, just to make sure what you're coming to!
10.30 a.m. at St Martin's also offers a variety of services. Smaller, relaxed, more intimate than the Parish Church. A service serving a particular part of Cromer, with an activity group for those under 11. (The monthly pattern is broadly similar to that at the Parish Church but, again, it's worth checking here.)
4.30 p.m. at St Martin's is a small, quiet, traditional Anglican evening service based on the Book of Common Prayer. Holy Communion (Order 2) is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month, with Evening Prayer on the other Sundays.
6.30 p.m. at the Parish Church is our most informal service. Meeting in the lounge 'Under the Tower' from September to the end of May, the service focusing on teaching and worship. The monthly pattern includes Communion once a month, plus a monthly 'Celebration' service.
7.00 p.m. at the Parish Church is Sunday@Seven, our relaxed and informal service for the Summer season that replaces the 6.30 p.m. service from the end of May until the end of August. This service is aimed at Summer visitors and regular Cromer church family members alike and has a strong, thematic teaching element.
